Eight years ago, my husband and I exchanged vows. Thank God we cannot judge the wedding on the actual marriage! If that was the case, you would be questioning me right now! LBVS
I am so happy to share my life with such an incredible man and have 5 beautiful babies together. Our family is complete and I couldn’t be more happy!
I won’t lead you to believe our marriage is perfect because in fact we are far from it, but with our standard and knowing our roles in our marriage, things are great. We walked into marriage with no real example. We knew what not to do. I wondered why so many of Christian marriages we knew of were so distant and secretive, after 8 years I realized that many of them are lacking roles. Both are sharing roles instead of the biblical way of  wives “To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.” (Titus 2:5) and “But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ. ” (1 Cor 11:3)
Too many Christian married folk (in my opinion) have their own thing going on within the marriage. Because of that, the couple are walking in opposite direction leaving room for destruction between them. My husband and I were talking at 3 o’clock in the morning about us “growing up” listening to Pastor Bob Coy of Calvary Chapel in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. One morning while my husband was off at work, I searched the internet for studies about marriage and building a Godly one, and I found Pastor Bob. Ever since we have been listening to the podcast and reading the devotionals from his ministry.
Because of our Christ-centered marriage and the ministry of Pastor Bob Coy, we have made it to year 8!! Many people doubted and were against this union, but we knew God would get the glory out of our marriage. Now we believe we can be an example to other young couples and show them that “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” type of biblical marriage and that God’s way prevails!
Happy 8 years babe! I am ready for our adventures to come!!
