Obviously I put my own personal spin the the popular quote by Vivian Green
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain.â€
….but you get the point, right?
Well, last week, the rains fell and left a mark in my neighborhood! We woke up Wednesday morning after a good night’s sleep. Overnight rain is the best sleep known to man, but the aftermath left us stranded. We were in at least 3 feet of rain water! Our poor little rain boots couldn’t stand the chance! We were able to get our goats into safety and we thanked the Good Lord for us having the extra chicken coop built to keep our chickens out of the water after the last flood, but we were stuck indoors most of the day. The children were able to get to school that day because the waters were bearable and the buses could get through. But after school, no one could get thru. The waters had risen and my husband found a way to buy a boat.
The kids were “boated” to our house! It sounds like a horrible and terrifying experience, but we enjoyed every moment in the flood waters! We floated along the neighbor and even jump on trampoline (Ultimate Water Trampoline was created).
I cannot speak for everyone, but I am grateful for my family because we make the most out of every situation even when the odds are against us. We are convinced and confident because we know that no weapon formed against us would prosper and even though our entire yard was a pool, we swam and floated and had a ball!
I’ve learned that you have a choice at survival and living. We chose live and have fun in everything!
