It is not surprising that modesty is getting backlash now. After all, holiness is right and anything holy is under attack these days. The society we’re in is perverse and focused on physical appearance..AKA skin is in…and ALL OUT for display. I’ve spoke on modesty and the importance of setting an example for my children and others so this topic isn’t new at all. Speaking against secular ideologies are not a very popular thing to do but necessary in the culture we’re in. The world is acting out on their emotions and instead of morals and dignity; so to see someone with a platform speak about modesty is refreshing…slim to none but refreshing!

Everyone’s into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style. I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters 😂😂😂

Modesty isn’t trendy, but it is definitely stirring up conflict! I applaud Ayesha Curry for her boldness and stance on keeping it covered. Our young girls should be inspired and confident in knowing they don’t have to be exposed to gain attention or to become important. Your intelligence and confidence calls for recognition and attendance not your breast and  “upper thighs”.

The bible speaks on modesty and while I can quote scripture, it is also important to reflect what scripture speaks about daily. So when Paul addresses the issue, he says in 1 Timothy 2:9-10, “I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.” {NIV} So being the women of God, we must set the example and show others that your body is not for display and should be respected. Young girls are unaware of this truth because the world’s eyes are opened and are naked. Nothing’s left for the imagination!

I commend Ayesha Curry for her stance and her commitment to change the face of celebrity into one that is humble and wholesome! So if anyone who feels ill-will about the comment she made, I honestly feel sorry for you! Imagine your daughter walking around with her parts exposed? You would feel embarrassed and angry. People  today say that people should be able to express themselves with prejudice; we are giving the free will to make that decision, but everything should to respect not only yourself but the people around you.

What are you views on modesty and humility? I would love to hear your thoughts!Ayesha Curry
